3/4" Polypropylene Threaded 90° Street Elbow — Model 62244
The 3/4" Polypropylene Threaded 90° Street Elbow (Model 62244) from Barr Plastics is a lightweight, chemical-resistant plumbing fitting designed to create a secure right-angle connection between a male-threaded pipe and a female socket. Ideal for fluid and chemical transfer, this street elbow combines easy installation with corrosion-free performance for irrigation, water treatment, laboratories, aquaculture, and many industrial applications.
Features & Specifications
- Size: 3/4" nominal pipe size, fits standard 3/4" piping systems
- Material: Durable polypropylene for excellent chemical and corrosion resistance
- Type: 90° street elbow — one threaded end and one socket (female) end for compact directional changes
- Connections: Threaded design for secure mechanical grip; use with standard pipe threads
- Temperature: Suitable for cold and moderate temperature applications (avoid high-temperature fluids)
- Design: Lightweight construction for easy handling and reduced system weight
- Maintenance: Non-corroding material minimizes long-term maintenance
Benefits & Applications
The Model 62244 polypropylene threaded street elbow simplifies routing pipes in tight spaces while maintaining a dependable, leak-resistant connection. Its chemical resistance makes it a strong choice for chemical processing lines, lab setups, and water treatment systems where metal fittings would corrode. In irrigation and aquaculture systems the lightweight design speeds installation and reduces strain on supports. Use thread sealant tape or approved pipe dope on threaded joints and avoid overtightening to protect threads and extend service life.
Installation Tips
- Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly.
- Tighten by hand, then use a wrench—do not overtighten to prevent cracking or thread damage.
- Confirm pipe compatibility (thread type and diameter) before installation.
