Why liquid storage needs freeze protection
On a site with no municipal services, the holding tank is the water supply and the wastewater system. When it freezes, the work stops with it.
Frozen tanks stop service
Ice in a potable water tank means no water for crews or residents. Ice in a holding tank leaves nowhere for wastewater to go.
Ice damages equipment
Water expands as it freezes, putting stress on fittings, valves, inlets and pump lines that can lead to leaks once things thaw.
Remote sites can’t wait for spring
Thawing, hauling or replacing equipment at a camp or fly-in site takes crew time that a properly heated and insulated tank avoids.
Three ways to keep your liquids from freezing
Two standard tank lines in 1,000 and 2,000 imperial gallons, plus complete containerized systems for larger and colder sites. Every system is configured around your liquid, climate, power and site.
Spray-Foamed Heated & Insulated Holding Tanks
Closed-cell spray foam applied directly to the tank for seamless coverage, with heat tracing or a heating blanket for freeze protection. Choose a standard size, or tell us the tank you need and we’ll insulate and heat it.
- Standard 1,000 and 2,000 IG capacities
- Custom on vertical, horizontal, cone-bottom, low-profile and specialty tanks
- Foam thickness matched to your climate and application
- 120V self-regulating heat cable or heating blanket
- Fittings, level indicators, pumps, sensors, hatches and controls available
Best for: potable and process water, wastewater and sewage, agriculture, chemicals, and any project that needs a specific tank shape or size.
Heavy-Duty Heated & Insulated Holding Tanks
A low-profile HDPE inner tank inside a reinforced steel exterior, with internal support columns that resist impact from all sides and loading from the top. Insulated with EPS and finished in pre-painted metal cladding.
- Standard 1,000 and 2,000 IG capacities
- 2" EPS insulation, thicker available for higher R-value
- 120V self-regulating heating cable
- 16", 20" or 24" access lids, custom inlet and vent locations
- High-level alarm at 75% capacity, pumps and controls available
- Empty tanks stack four high for shipping
Best for: sewage and wastewater holding at camps and construction sites, potable water, and industrial chemical storage where the tank takes a beating.

Built for the sites that need it most
Pick your type of project to see what matters and where to start.
Work camps & construction sites
Crews need potable water and somewhere for wastewater to go, every day of the winter shift. Tanks get bumped by equipment and need to be easy to pump out.
Steel exterior and internal support columns stand up to a busy site. The 75% high-level alarm tells you when to schedule a pump-out.
For potable or process water storage alongside the holding tank.
Mining & exploration
Sites are remote, access is limited and on-site labour is expensive. You want a system that arrives complete and runs through the coldest months.
Tanks, heating, pumps, plumbing and controls built into one container, rated to −40°C. All fabrication is done in our shop, not on your site.
For satellite camps or smaller wastewater holding needs.
Pipeline & power line projects
Linear projects move along the right-of-way, with temporary camps and laydown yards that need water and wastewater storage for a season at a time.
Aboveground and self-contained, with no excavation into frozen ground. Empty tanks stack four high to cut freight.
For potable water or when a different tank shape suits the site.
Northern & First Nations communities
Water and wastewater infrastructure has to work through long winters, meet potable water requirements, and be serviceable with local resources.
Community-scale storage from 2,100 to 4,000+ gallons, with electric, hydronic or hybrid heat to suit local power.
A potable-water configuration with NSF/ANSI 61 certification for water contact.
Industrial & chemical storage
Process liquids and chemicals need to stay usable through winter. The tank material and shape have to suit the chemical, not the other way around.
We start with the right tank for your liquid (vertical, horizontal or cone-bottom) and set foam thickness and heating for your minimum temperature.
For outdoor chemical storage that needs a protective steel exterior.
Cabins, seasonal & emergency sites
Off-grid cabins, parks, events and emergency operations need water and wastewater storage without municipal services, often for a season or on short notice.
A standard 1,000 IG tank with spray-foam insulation and 120V heat cable, sized for smaller sites.
For sewage holding where the tank needs extra protection.

Common questions
What’s the difference between Spray-Foamed and Heavy-Duty tanks?
Spray-Foamed tanks have closed-cell foam applied directly to the tank, which makes them the most flexible option: we can insulate almost any tank shape or size. Heavy-Duty tanks use an HDPE inner tank inside a reinforced steel exterior with internal support columns, EPS insulation and metal cladding, built for sites where the tank may take impact.
Can you insulate and heat a tank in a specific shape or size?
Yes. Custom spray-foamed tanks can start from vertical, horizontal, cone-bottom, low-profile or specialty tanks. We set the foam thickness for your climate and add heat cable or a heating blanket.
What power do the tanks need?
Spray-Foamed and Heavy-Duty tanks use a 120V self-regulating heating cable. Containerized systems can be configured for 120V or 240V, with electric, hydronic or hybrid heating.
Are they suitable for potable water and sewage?
Our heated holding tanks are built to CSA and NSF standards for applicable sewage and potable water uses. An HIHT-W potable-water configuration with NSF/ANSI 61 certification for water contact is also available. Tell us your application and we’ll confirm the right configuration.
How do I know when a holding tank needs pumping?
Heavy-Duty tanks include a high-level alarm at 75% capacity. Level indicators, sensors and controls are available on all systems.
How are they shipped to remote sites?
Tanks ship finished from our Abbotsford shop. Empty Heavy-Duty tanks stack four high to reduce freight, and containerized systems ship as a standard 20 ft or 40 ft ISO container.
Is any welding or fabrication done on site?
No. All welding and fabrication is completed in our shop, and every tank is water-tested before it leaves the facility.
