They should not be used for chemicals, fertilizers or any other product with a weight of greater than 1 Specific Gravity (the weight of water). Made with high quality polyethylene resins that meet FDA specifications, these tanks ensure safe storage of potable water outdoors. They do not release or impart any harmful elements into the stored water and are in widespread use for the storage of potable water and rainwater. Plus, their opaque black or dark green colour options prevent sunlight penetration, reducing the growth of water-borne algae. Most of these tanks come standard with a bottom 2" drain and a top 1-1/2" fill fitting pre-installed and centered with the top lid.
